The south west of Scotland, warmed by the Gulf Stream, is justly famous for its gardens. Here are some of the best gardens to visit in Scotland...

  • Cally Gardens - situated close to the hotel, this 2.7 acre walled garden was built in the 1770's to provide fruit and vegetables for Cally House, former seat of the Murray-Usher family. Since 1987, the garden has ben replanted with a unique collection of over 3,500 varieties by owner Michael Wickenden.
  • Logan Botanic Gardens is Scotland's most exotic garden with a fine collection of subtropical plants.
  • Castle Kennedy Gardens are known for their collection of rhododendrons and azaleas in the springtime, and magnificent specimen trees.
  • Glenwhan Gardens are remarkable, transformed from gorse covered hillside, with spectacular views over Luce Bay.
  • Threave Garden is best known for its spectacular springtime display of daffodils, colourful herbaceous beds and striking heather garden.
